May Meeting Review

The meeting last week was one of the best attended meetings of recent memory. Although most people attended physically, a number of members found it more convenient to attend remotely. For the most part the remote attendance worked well except some people had some trouble with the client piece and had to participate via phone.
This was a completely open-format round-table type event with no set agenda and it worked quite well based upon the feedback I've gotten so far. There was some very good discussions around ZCM and a number of other topics. We talked a bit about NSS performance on OES2, SLP integration, and what filesystems to use with GroupWise. We discussed some typical ZCM configurations for core servers, services, and satellite servers.
One particular book was recommended by Chad Griewahn and other members of the group for application packaging: The Orange Brain's Guide to Admin Studio by Leslie Easter.
The question was brought up about where all the possible Microsoft Group Policy settings can be found which was located by Jason Cooper (from the C/D/H office in Royal Oak).
The new afternoon format seems to work well for a number of people and we'll be looking to continue this format in the future. Although based on our new calendar the next scheduled meeting would be in July, we typically skip the mid-summer meeting. Additionally the Big Event is scheduled for the 18th and 19th of August and we want to ensure that we don't effect the attendance of that (or burn out the membership on too many events). That puts our next scheduled meetings on September 15th, November 17th, January 19th, etc. Please let me know of any suggestions you might have for coming topics, meeting formats, frequency, requested speakers, etc. and we'll see what we can do.
